Kelsey Brookes has a new show coming up. I have to admit he has slipped out of my mind, but im super amped to have come across his new art again today. Really love his intricate work. Just wish i could afford one of these. Maybe a print will have to do.

Because I am just so super sneaky and rather stealth, I managed to get my paws on Moey's Polaroid's. Well, actually, he left them in my car - ha! They are mine now and I have hidden them. Anyway, I scanned these little beauties and now I am turning them into spam, lovely spam... The below are little snippits of weekends, arvos, board-shaping and skating (I try and stay away), garage sale finds and daily grinds. Yew. Note: I think Moey would probably like me to mention that they look better in person. It's true, they do, bad sadly we are not in person.

Above: Yosemite in April 2011 by Me. Below: Yosemite by Adams
Earlier this year, we made it over the the States. One of the most breath taking views on the whole trip was easily the moment we came around the final corner into the Yosemite Valley. Stubborn snow from the winter was still plentiful and a chilling drizzle made for a spectacular view.
Yosemite was one of Ansel Adams favourite locations to photograph. His shots considered to the finest detail, he spent a life photographing various American National Parks from purpose built platforms on the top of his cars.
What a life.
Have a look here and watch this video.

No such thing as cheap good asian takeaway in Byron, so lucky Holly got this newly released cookbook. Holly, when you read this, i'll have the salt and pepper squid as seen above.

I'm a hater. A hater of those fashion blogs where all the 'author' does is post photos of themselves in that new, oh so revolutionary outfit. And they name E-V-E-R-Y item they're wearing. We get it, you're hot and you're fashionable. Get out there and take photos of something other than your own reflection, please. Muchos thanks must go to Garance Dore for her wit, piss-taking, perfect hand writing and gorgeous photos. Dore makes fashion fun, colourful and happy. Stay tuned for another lady who hits the nail on the head, more to come shortly..

A while ago, the girls from the blog, So Much to Tell You, asked Holly and I a few questions about our zine trippin and stuff. Read here.

I'm sorry, but weren't women just so much more suave at the turn of the century (i'm talking 19th here). They were classy and dapper and ladylike and do-ers and go-getter-ers. Mysterious flowers, I'd like to think. That's how we like 'em.

Just to follow up on the last video post, the new Something Else range with Ken Done bits and bobs looks even better in these shot. Kinda little girl lost meets sex kitten. Hmmm

Pretty excited about the new Monster Children photo issue coming out soon. Always a great issue, and last time it came out there was a bit of controversy about the naked Kate Moss on the cover, which had to be covered up with an alternate photo print glued on top. This time round the cover still features boobs, but slightly more suggestively.
I've also been shortlisted for 2 categories in their Photo Comp that coincides with this issue. Fingers crossed for some extra silly season coin.

An old fav photo of Holly being all clever and writing the word fuck into a huge sand-dune just after a sunshower had wet the sand. I wish i still had the time use b&w film, develop and print photos like this by hand.

Long before this blog started, Holly and I made this newsprint zine titled Trippin. It's 36 pages of our travel photos from Australia (mainly) coupled with short poems written by Holly. I'll be putting the zine back up for sale shortly, so stay tuned.

Pete Keen, the Founder and Co-Director of Sugar Mountain Festival down in Melbourne is sure putting together something special. The 2012 visual artists line-up features a select group of artist including amazing painter Maya Hayuk, alongside locals Dylan Martorell and Ben Baretto (+others).
Knowing these artists, the exhbition and events will be a psychadellic mix of installation, noise, colour and atmosphere. Can't wait!

Australian menswear label Vanishing Elephant has opened up a store in Melbourne, which is one more reason to add to a long list of why i want to go down and visit soon. Some of the summer range is pretty nice too.
